Sporting Activities

Whether you consider yourself sporty or not, it is easy to enjoy the many outdoor activities to be found locally; cycling, horse-riding, sailing, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, climbing and tennis are just a few of the exciting activities this area has to offer.

Just ten minutes drive from Le Sarrail there are wonderfully rustic riding stables which cater for all ages and levels of experience. Qualified instructors give riding lessons or you can simply enjoy a ride through the vineyards and woods and admire the spectacular scenery.

Cavayère lake is about twenty minutes drive away and is locally known as 'Carcassonne Plage' because of its lovely sandy beach. Here you can take long walks (buggy friendly), sailing lessons or visit the '02 Climbing Park' where you can literally swing from tree to tree! If that sounds just a little too active for you, then why not hire bikes and cycling along the towpaths of the beautiful canal du midi (5 mins from Le Sarrail) - a must for all the family.

For more adventurous types, there is plenty of excitement to be had whether it be white water rafting through the gorges, kayaking on the rapids, abseiling, or canoeing.
